A Fair Work Ombudsman media release today has outlined a number of surprise audits last week by Fair Work Inspectors of restaurants, bars and cafes in Glebe Point Road, Sydney to check if businesses are complying with workplace laws.
These inspections came about through the Fair Work Ombudsman's Anonymous reporting function.
It serves as a reminder that this function is always an option members of the community to use should this be a preferred option to providing contact information and reporting unfair work practices.
Information to assist people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds has been translated into 27 languages and is available on the Fair Work Ombudsman website.
The Agency also has fact sheets tailored to overseas workers and international students on the website and YouTube videos in 14 languages to assist workers to understand their workplace rights.
