Reaching Diverse Audiences - A Special Event



On July 1, the NSW Government's Strategic Communications and Government Advertising Unit, Cultural Perspectives and SBS in a joint initiative hosted the Reaching Diverse Audiences seminar.

The breakfast seminar, held at the SBS Insight Studio, was emceed by Cultural Perspectives' Managing Director Pino Migliorino, and attended by 50 senior marketers from NSW state government departments and agencies.

The morning began with participants being briefed by Thang Ngo, National Manager - SBS In Language on the may touch points available for communicating with ethnic audiences. This was followed by key insights from recent research undertaken by SBS presented by Emelia Millward, Manager Strategy & Insight SBS Marketing.

Giving participants further perspective of the breadth of multicultural marketing, Faye Spiteri, Communications Director presented a case study of Cultural Perspectives' award-winning campaign for the Australian Electoral Commission's 2007 Election.

Ms Margaret Hardy, Program Manager Screening Marketing and Scott Walsberger from the Cancer Institute NSW presented the Institute's and Breast Screen NSW's recent 'Cherry & Pea' campaign targeting CALD women.

The seminar was concluded with a tour of SBS production facilities.
