African Day Festival

Head to Africa House at Balmoral Park in Brisbane on 28th May to celebrate African culture and traditions at the 2017 Africa Day Festival. You will be surrounded by vibrant colours, upbeat drum music and dance, mouth-watering food, authentic art and crafts.

Africa Day, also known as African Liberation Day or African Freedom Day, is officially celebrated on 25th May, commemorating the establishment of African Unity. The official celebration will take place at the African Unity’s headquarters in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, the same city that hosted the inaugural summit in 1963. The typical way to celebrate African Unity includes a youth parade, a music show and a soccer game.
