Desktop Research & Consultations

Issue: 
Life Without Barriers (LWB) wanted to explore opportunities with CALD communities and actively embrace diversity across all aspects of the organisation. They wanted to improve their cultural responsiveness and form connections within CALD communities.

Solution: 
DiverseWerks was engaged to undertake a series of activities which ranged from desktop research to in-depth stakeholder consultations and the development of:

  • A Diversity Statement;
  • A Diversity Policy; and
  • An Employment and Accessibility Plan.

Through this, DiverseWerks identified opportunities and made recommendations to LWB to increase organisational capacity, to help build the organisation into one that is responsive and highly committed to diversity.

Results: 
DiverseWerks presented a summary report to LWB, and the outputs above, which helped ensure the needs of diverse individuals were met and improved organisational performance, client service delivery, and staff satisfaction. Additional, it resulted in LWB being seen as a service provider and employer of choice in the not-for-profit sector, as they shifted towards being highly responsive and committed to diversity.
