Account Director

Cultural Perspectives is looking for a strategic, highly motivated, and dedicated Account Director to join our Sydney team in a full-time position.

Cultural Perspectives is Australia’s leading full-service communications, research, and engagement agency. We specialise in multicultural communications and engagement with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) audiences across Australia. We deliver informed, innovative, and multifaceted campaigns and engagement strategies for clients in Government, corporate, and not-for-profit organisations.

About the role

We’re looking for an ambitious, quality-driven, team-oriented Account Director with exceptional leadership and people-management skills. The Account Director will be client-focused, able to manage multiple campaigns, and have in-depth knowledge of all things production.

  • Working in a client focused team, committed to best practice when working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of key client accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships at all levels, acting as a trusted advisor.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of account managers and channel specialists

  • Ensure cross-functional teams collaborate effectively across creative, media, production, public relations and community engagement.

  • Communicating and negotiating sensitively within cross-cultural environments.

  • Develop and deliver strategies that achieve client objectives and drive business growth.

  • Manage workflow, budgets, forecasting and scope of work across accounts.

  • Drive measurement and evaluation of campaigns, ensuring effectiveness and ROI.

  • Lead the company’s production relationships, foster relationships and maintain a network of suppliers.

  • Growing your dedicated accounts through the identification of mutually beneficial opportunities

  • Undertaking tender, proposal and quotation responses.

  • Conducting analysis of campaign and strategic outputs and preparing detailed written reports and verbal presentations.

The ideal person will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge in the below.

  • 5+ years of experience in advertising, creative, digital marketing, or agency account leadership.

  • An understanding of communications with and engagement of linguistically and culturally diverse communities (communicating in cross-cultural environments).

  • Excellent client-facing communication skills, with confidence presenting strategy to senior stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver strategies that achieve client objectives and drive business growth.

  • Strong project management experience overseeing campaigns with advertising, creative and information material production.

  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, including pre-production, production, and post-production.

  • Strong writing, editing and verbal skills.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent, and drive performance outcomes.

  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills – demonstrated ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff with a positive mindset and adaptable to changes.

  • Advanced reporting, analytics, and campaign optimisation expertise

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Desirable

  • Direct experience working in a diversity-related field will be highly regarded.

  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and tools for production management.

  • Experience in cross-cultural communication and working with non-English texts and fonts.

Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in a related discipline (advertising, media, production, communications, or similar).
