Kate’s studies and experience have equipped her with exceptional bilingual writing and communications skills. With a passion for media, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at Monash University and a Master of Media Practice at University of Sydney.

Originally from China, Kate came to Australia in 2019. During her role as a director of student publications, she published more than 200 WeChat posts and was responsible for reviewing Red Note posts. She also worked with a radio station to produce 20 episodes of a Mandarin program, inviting postgraduate students to share their experiences and insights.

Kate’s connection with the multicultural communities in Australia extends beyond the Mandarin-speaking community. As a student reporter, Kate has published more than 20 articles about international students and their lives in Australia, amplifying voices often underrepresented in mainstream media. She also involved in a wide range of student events and campaigns that inform, engage and advocate for students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
