On Friday September 8, the founder, managing director and chairperson of Culper, Mr Pino Migliorino, received his Member of the Order of Australia award in a presentation ceremony held at NSW Government House, Sydney.

These Australian awards recognise the significant contribution people have made to the Australian community. The Member of the Order of Australia is specifically given to those who have given service in a particularly locality or field of activity or to a particular group. Only a maximum of 340 individuals can be conferred this prestigious award every year.

Mr Migliorino received his award for his service to the settlement of refugees in Australia and to the Italian Community. The award recognises the work that Mr Migliorino has done to ensure that new arrivals of refugee status are safely settled in Australia, and that people from all backgrounds can participate fully in the Australian community.

Mr Migliorino’s work has ensured that migrant and multicultural communities are part of the decision-making process. Through his work with the Cultural Perspectives Group, businesses and governments are able to better understand the needs of diverse communities and provide strategies to address and satisfy these unique needs.

Mr Migliorino and Cultural Perspectives continue to provide multicultural marketing and consultant services giving insight into diverse communities.

The medal was presented by the NSW Governor General, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (retired).
