Cultural Perspectives will tonight be hosting our guests at the 2017 NSW Premier’s Multicultural Media Awards to find out the winners of these prestigious awards at Sydney Olympic Park.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Multiculturalism Ray Williams will announce the winners from the finalists of 14 categories including Best Investigative Story, the Public Interest Award and Young Journalist of the Year.

The finalists this year and their works are all outstanding, representing a wide range of multicultural communities including Chinese, Indian, Arabic, Vietnamese, and Bulgarian, exploring a variety of social issues such as domestic violence, immigration and culture, to just name a few. SBS and Indian Link both have a high number of nominations, while Australian New Express Daily, a Chinese media group, is seen as a rising talent in the multicultural media space.

We’re also excited to see the young journalist of the year and the student award recognising the new emerging talent in the industry!

We wish all the finalists good luck! Stay tuned for links to the winners and some photos from the night.
