Cultural Perspectives Group today dressed up in red to celebrate the lunar new year. Falling on the 16th February, it is the first day of the Chinese lunar new year, marking a beginning of the year of dog. We all indulged in a variety of dumplings together with a number of signature Chinese dishes such as Kongpo Chicken and Sichuan Style Tofu.

The Chinese lunch has sparked a lot of conversations about the Chinese culture. As a most loved animal, dog represents loyalty and honesty in the Chinese culture. On the first day of a new year, people are encouraged to go out and about to visit friends and relatives, extending their new year wishes and greetings. This is considered as collecting good luck for the coming year.

Cultural Perspectives would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy new year! 祝大家新年快乐狗年大吉!
